An interdisciplinary view of ecosystem health

Abstract


This article emanates as part of the interdisciplinary work being promoted at the National University of Costa Rica, which is carried out within the framework of the project "Interdisciplinary link for the contribution to ecosystem health in the Central Pacific Conservation Areas (ACOPAC)". This proposal for collegial work is assumed by the Veterinary Medicine School (EMV), the Division of Rural Education (DER) and the International Institute for Conservation and Wildlife Management (ICOMVIS). This linkage allows us to unlearn an academic approach, centered on objects of study that has traditionally been deprived of academic life, to amalgamate efforts, resources and new perspectives in order to understand reality in a way that emits a deeper and enriching interdisciplinary knowledge of life. The academic experience provides an opportune scenario for the interdependent and complementary approaches that we must achieve between scientific-technical knowledge and pedagogical-didactic knowledge to generate new learning experiences in the academic life at the National University.
